Hardwell, Great to catch up with you! We wanted to talk a little bit about the festival season this year, you’ve become a firm fixture at Creamfields now, How much are you looking forward to going back there this summer?

I’m really excited to be returning. You know with Creamfields you are always going to get a great crowd and amazing party! I can’t wait to play.

This year see’s you back on the outdoor Stage; and youre also bringing back your Revealed arena, do you have a preference to performing on a big outdoor stage or under canvas?

I love the occasion of playing to big crowds both inside and out. Outdoors is always different because of the weather conditions but that’s also the fun side too. What’s amazing is being able to reach so many people with your music and having a big effect on the way the crowd parties. It’s one of the reasons why I love djing.

Outside of the Revealed recording artists, who would be your dream artist to book for a festival?

I’d love to see Dr Dre performing live at a festival. That would be pretty special to witness.

There’s some great new talent coming through at the moment, whose caught your attentinon recently?  And for any budding DJ/Producers out there, whats the best piece of professional advice youd give them?

Well the best place to start for new talent is my label Revealed Recordings. It’s a place for new talent to come and find a strong home and a place to grow. Guys like Kill the Buzz, Thomas Newson, Julian Calor and Manse are all making really amazing music and 2016 is definitely going to be a year when you get to see them reach their goals. My advice has always been to stay true to what you believe in and follow your own path musically.

Electronic music is huge now, where do you see the genre going?

Only upwards. It’s nothing going to stop because we’re a scene full of passionate people. That passion won’t disappear overnight. I’m excited for the future and how technology and dance music are growing together. There’s a lot of exciting new avenues for our scene to go down within the world of Tech.

Whats been happening in the studio recently?  Any exciting new music or  collaborations that you can tell us about?

My next single ‘8Fifty’ is a collaboration with Thomas Newson. I’m very excited about this one because it’s something we made together on our Revealed North American Bus tour earlier this year. I also have my single with Craig David ‘No Holding back’ coming out later this year too. And fans will soon get to get their hands on my Hardwell Presents Revealed Vol 7 mix compilation. It’s definitely one to check out for the biggest tracks.

Can we expect any surprises at Creamfields?  Any exclusives to be played to the Creamfields massive?

I’ve a lot of new music coming up and will definitely be including much of it in my set so expect something very special during my show. I’ll leave it as a surprise for now.

Having started in the industry at a very early age, how did you get into it?  What was the initial piece of kit that got you hooked producing music?

I started out playing the Piano and drums. My passion for electronic music grew from watching a documentary on MTV and has never stopped growing. It’s amazing how this scene grabs you and keeps you hooked both as a fan and artist for life.

What do you think you would be doing if you were not making music?

I can’t really think of life without music so for me this is the only path. I do like design as I work on the designs of all my Revealed stuff with the team so that is perhaps the closest creative passion I’ve got to music, which is my first love.

What music where you into growing up? Any guilty pleasures?

I listened to hip hop from an early age and still continue to do so now.

Where do you see yourselves in 10 years’ time or what ambitions would you like to have achieved by then?

Still making music, still touring and still playing to crowds of like-minded individuals. I want to continue doing this for the rest of my life. My ambition right now is to build up my label Revealed Recordings and also see my charity project United We Are Foundation grow bigger to help more young people.
